The idea of the Oxford debates is based on a factual, structured discussion (between two teams), but also on an – almost sporting – competition. The aim of the “duel” is to prove or disprove a particular thesis. <\/p>\n\n
“Cultural diversity. Is community possible?”<\/strong> – is a debate that will take up a thesis on one of the major challenges of today: migration. The discussion will address the stereotypes associated with it and how to think about them in the context of a future world full of anxiety. <\/p>\n\n The very nature of the debates has an educational purpose. Importantly<\/em> – as the young people say – we value good, substantive conversation. We avoid populism. We want to show how issues of contemporary relevance can be discussed. <\/em>. <\/p>\n\n Among the invited guests who will be the expert voice accompanying the young people is Oktawia Braniewicz-Zaorska<\/strong>. The jury will include Anna Jurek, Natan Chwalewski and Micha\u0142 Adamiak. <\/p>\n\n The event is co-organised by the Stowarzyszenie Dialogu M\u0142odzie\u017cy and teenagers from schools in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.<\/p>\n\n Oktawia Braniewicz-Zaorska <\/strong>\u2013 Secretary of the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, lecturer at the AHE in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a and permanent court mediator at the Regional Court in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.
